Drum roll..... Week 1 of this journey is in the books! I have officially completed 1 week of liquid only pre-op diet 🙌🏼 I still have one more week to surgery, (EEEEKK)!
Well, to be completely honest, this week was relatively easy for me. I thought there would be more of a struggle with food options, eating times and prepping each day. Day 1-4 were a breeze. I had my game plan for during work, the schedule was easy to follow and my hunger was pretty much non existent. Fast forward to the weekend.... this posed a little more challenging; schedules were all over the place with practices, games, church, gym time and last but certainly not least KIDS!
There was one moment in between rushing from one commitment to another that the kids decided they were hungry... (how dare they)... jk. Being the amazing parents (wink) we are, we decided to drive through Taco Casa, that was the most convenient an en route location to stop.
WHAT. WERE. WE. THINKING.
We pulled over in the parking lot as my children decided to whine about every little thing we just ordered them. A huge order of nachos my middle son just had to have and decided he didn’t want 2 minutes later, sat right next to me. Up until that very moment the urge to eat had not been there for me.
I was STRUGGLING.
6 days straight of liquid only coupled with the smell and how amazingly delicious they looked had me battling.
It was a battle of my body Vs. my mind. There I was having my own version of pay per view being held right inside our vehicle.... The fight lasted 3 rounds each 5 minutes or (15 minutes) 😂 Finally a champion!
Mind took the belt! 🙌🏼💪🏼
I was focused this week, the urge to waiver only really struck just that once. I‘m happy to report that I followed the diet to a T this and that resulted in a weight loss of 10 lbs!!!! 🙌🏼

My next update will be surgery day! Stay tuned 😊
