Well hello there! šš¼
I turned 33 today... I mean 29 𤣠and Iām taking a minute, or two to reflect on what all this crazy year has brought. I wonāt go through it all to spare you some precious time. If you have been following along on my weighloss journey you know that one of the BIG things that I have to reflect on this year is my weight loss surgery.
Iām a couple weeks away from 6 months out... how the heck did I blink and itās been 6 months?!?! Anyways š¤ Iām about to hit the 1/2 year mark. Why is that a big deal? Well, something I have heard from my doctor and several others is that the 1st year after surgery is the āhoneymoon phaseā (awwww sweet right?), you will lose most all of the weight that youāre going to lose in that year. Of course people can lose after a year, and many do, but the fight becomes harder, the work tougher and the loss is much slower.
After some REALLY tough math calculations, and my overall weight-loss goal of losing 200lbs, I would need to lose 100lbs in 6 months.... You guys 100lbs in 6 months! š³
GUESS WHAT! I DID IT! šššš What an amazing birthday gift to wake up and hit that 1/2 way goal! I have officially lost 100lbs... and I did it with a whole 10 days of that 6 months to spare š¤£

Itās amazing to me what that weight was doing to my body everyday. I mean you know it while your walking with it everyday, but you just get used to it. You get used to saying no, or I canāt, or finding ways to avoid booth tables, amusement parks, zip lines, swim parties... Gosh that list for me goes on and on and on. I still find myself hesitant to think I can do certain things and honestly I have a long way to go, but the āyesāsā are coming! I still canāt believe the first āyesā was to a zip line! š³ What happens in Vegas they say.... gets posted on your blog š¤£

So I feel like I always do this, I tell you all the fluffy goodness first. If your want to hear a little of the not so fluffy good stuff... grab the low cal popcorn, because here it is. š³
HAIR LOSS is REAL! Like really real. My hair truly started thinning after our 3rd baby, so when I was told that hair loss could be an issue after weight loss surgery it worried me. I made it through the first 3 months without much loss at all. Starting around month 4 the hair loss really started and continues almost daily š Unfortunately, there is not much I can do. This is a very normal side effect for weight loss surgery patients and will stop at some point and re-grow over time.

Skin issues, ugh the skin issues! With the crazy changes in my body, I donāt know why I wouldnāt expect my skin to change š¤·š»āāļø Well, it has. Some weeks Iām like a teen again with oily skin and other weeks itās so dull and dry. I donāt know much about how long this season will last, but, I have found my skin care saving grace.... Shameless plug for LimeLife and my friend April who has hooked me up to keep my skin from ruining my day.
Lastly, changing your full wardrobe every couple months is expensive... that is all I have to say about that. š¤¦š»āāļø

Well thatās all I got for this blog update. Thanks for the support and following along!
How amazing and your amazing love you. Great work
