A victim to google

Another week into my journey is in the books! It was a pretty uneventful week full of rest and recovery. My body was hard at work healing and mending from surgery and so far it’s done a wonderful job! My 1 week post op appointment went amazing and the doctor was very pleased with my progress and energy 🙌🏼 I was even up for a full body mirror selfie! I mean why not while I’m waiting... right?!?!

I’m the person who falls victim to the google web more than I would like to admit. Every time I google something, the results always come to the same scary ending.... DEATH! So of course I googled every possible scenario before surgery and then after surgery. Before I knew it I was in a spin of anxiety, nerves and was sure I was going to die. I‘m pretty sure I used the google search engine this past week a little more than I did the last week of my first pregnancy. 🤦🏻‍♀️ Needless to say, I didn’t die! The only thing that died this week was my appetite and the liking of broth and peach and tangerine clear protein drinks 🤢 Blah!

There was pain, there is pain; but, it’s been manageable. I just have to remind myself that as much as I want to be there for it all, do it all and act like I’m doing amazing; I’m still healing and I need to give myself and my body some time. I do feel very fortunate that so far... (knock on wood), I have not had any issues with drinking and keeping it down. My abdomen is full of red blotches, bruises, rashes from the tap (apparently my body doesn’t like surgical tap),🤷🏻‍♀️ and of course 4 incision locations. It does look a little scary and my youngest feels the need to check on it everyday to make sure it’s feeling better. ❤️ These marks are all par for the course and remind me to stay motivated and focused on my goal... to be a healthier version of myself.

****Semi graphic, not so pretty picture of some of my incisions below*****

***I warned you***

I‘m excited everyday to check the scale... weird right?!?! I know it’s not going to move like this every day and that some days or even weeks it might not move at all, but this week it moved a really awesome amount and shoot, I‘LL TAKE IT 🙌🏼
