2 Weeks Pre-Op

Wow! Two weeks before I officially undergo gastric sleeve surgery. The nerves have set in a bit, but even more than that the hope of how my life is going to change for the better has fully taken over and I am so EXCITED!

Coming to the decision of weight loss surgery was not easy. I pushed my weight gain off year over year. I negotiated with myself that I could lose the weight whenever I wanted. I told myself that I was healthy overall and have no major health concerns. I stood by my feelings that this amazing body of mine gave me 3 beautiful babies and it has gotten me through 32 years of life. Why do I need weight loss surgery? The very simple answer is that it’s time! I have let these excuses fill my mind and limit my abilities in many aspects of my life.

Today as I walked the isles of Sams Club preparing for my very anticipated upcoming surgery; I find myself excited at the idea of how cheap this shopping trip was going to be with some protein shakes and broth for the next two weeks! With my amazing husband and 3 kids in toe, they came to support me as I picked out banana, chocolate and peach flavor meal replacements, (our cart has never been so empty). I am now ready to start my day tomorrow with a weigh in, before picture and my very first protein shake! It’s time to kick off this farewell to fat journey officially.

My hope is to frequently and openly discuss my weight loss process with the blog page. I will walk through my pre-op, surgery and post op progress. I want to keep myself accountable and also be helpful to anyone else who is struggling with their weight and considering weight loss surgery.
